Senior Citizen Policy
Ensuring Comfort and Support for Senior Citizens
To ensure the well-being, safety, and comfort of senior citizens residing in the Society, especially those living alone, the following policy has been established:
1. Priority Assistance:
- Senior citizens living alone will be given priority in addressing their grievances, maintenance issues, or any other requests made to the Society office.
- Dedicated personnel or volunteers from the Society will be available to assist senior citizens when needed.
2. Emergency Support:
- The Society will maintain a record of senior citizens living alone, including their emergency contact details and medical history (if shared voluntarily).
- In case of emergencies, such as health-related issues, the Society management or security team will immediately inform the registered emergency contacts and facilitate medical assistance.
3. Regular Welfare Checks:
- The Society’s security guards or designated volunteers will conduct regular welfare checks on senior citizens living alone.
- A quick daily check-in or phone call may be arranged for senior citizens who request such a service.
4. Home Maintenance Support:
- Assistance will be provided to senior citizens for minor repairs, bill payments, or arranging external services such as electricians or plumbers.
- The Society office will maintain a list of verified service providers for this purpose.
5. Community Engagement:
- Senior citizens will be encouraged to participate in community events and gatherings to foster a sense of belonging.
- Special sessions or activities such as yoga, meditation, or cultural programs may be organized periodically for their engagement and relaxation.
6. Dedicated Parking and Mobility:
- If required, special parking spaces close to elevators or entry points will be allocated for senior citizens.
- Ramps and handrails will be maintained in good condition for ease of mobility within the premises.
7. Visiting Hours Flexibility:
- Relatives or caretakers visiting senior citizens will be granted flexible visiting hours with prior intimation to the security guards.
- Special arrangements can be made for caretakers staying overnight with proper authorization.
8. Caretaker Registration:
- Senior citizens employing caretakers must ensure their police verification and registration with the Society office.
- The Society will assist in verifying and maintaining a record of these caretakers to ensure safety.
9. Health Camps and Medical Support:
- The Society will coordinate with local healthcare providers to organize periodic health camps, including general check-ups and consultations, exclusively for senior citizens.
- Information on nearby pharmacies, doctors, and hospitals will be shared with senior citizens and updated regularly.
10. Safety Measures:
- Emergency response plans will include specific provisions for senior citizens, such as evacuation assistance during natural disasters or fire emergencies.
- Senior citizens are encouraged to inform the Society of any specific medical conditions requiring special attention during emergencies.
These policies are designed to provide a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for senior citizens while fostering a sense of community. Your comfort and well-being are our priorities, and we are committed to supporting you in every possible way.
